About Me
I am La Fonde Wooden, and I descend from a long line of educators. I am the only girl and baby of Mr. & Mrs. L.V. Tate, whom collectively have over 60 years of teaching experience in the MCS, Mississippi, Georgia, and Illinois School Districts. In addition to my parents, my aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother were all educators as well. So it is evident that educating is my blood.
I graduated from Tennessee State University with a degree in Psychology in 1992. In May of 2005, I graduated from Christian Brothers University with a Masters of Arts in Teaching. I recently completed the requirements for my ESL Certification and add-on endorsement, Summer of 2009. It is now my goal to pursue an add-on certification endorsement in Physical Education and a degree in Guidance. I have one sibling, Lando, who is a Business Administration graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin. The apples of my eyes are my niece Landy and nephew Michael, both of whom are honor students in law school and high school respectively. I am vibrant and energetic. I love life and children and feel very blessed to have both. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of yours!
In my educational viewpoint, I firmly believe that our future lies within the hands of our tiny ones. Because of this, I give my all passionately, not only to improve our society but to enhance the lives of the little ones I come across. I enjoy children to the fullest and appreciate every moment and opportunity I have to not only educate them but to learn with them as well as from them. I love to think of myself not as their teacher but as their Instructional Coach and Educational Partner. I am simply here along with my students’ parents, to bring out the very best in each of them. By working side by side toward a common goal of excellence, there is no limit to what we can accomplish!!!
